Originally painted as Dartmoor Spirit and substantially reworked in 2025, this is the most recognisably landscape-based work in the series. A heavy bank of dark cloud fills much of the sky above open moorland, while a narrow strip of orange light holds the horizon. A standing stone occupies the foreground. The painting is built around that brief point of balance between approaching weather and remaining light.
