Organic areas of blue, ochre, cream and green are separated by pale space, fine lines and abrupt changes in texture. Some forms appear suspended; others push against or spill into one another. Marble dust creates rough, raised passages among thinner washes and drawn marks. 

The painting was built through repeated additions and removals, allowing earlier layers to remain visible rather than tidying them away.

Linked in essense to the poem, Tradition, this work aims to represent, something that is simulataneously safe, uncomfortable, secure, temporary, accepting and questioning.
