Inevitably, History Repeats (Again)

2025

Oil on canvas
100 h x 100 w cm
£900

If we don’t remember clearly,
we inevitably repeat —
until ‘it’ burns again.

Dark greens, blacks and muted browns surround a powerful vertical passage of gold and orange running through the centre. Below it, many small circular marks accumulate into a dense crowd drawn to the show, with a single red mark standing apart.

Fragments and partially buried symbols are worked into the darker paint. The composition was built around repetition, accumulation and the way traces can remain present even when they are obscured or almost forgotten.
