A three-part work comprising, Early Promise, Hubris Rules and Future Unseen, exploring humanity’s evolving relationship with the natural world, framed through three critical stages: harmony, exploitation, and consequence.

The centre work of the Selfish Gene sequence pushes the same landscape into a much denser, industrial state. Reds, blacks and heavily worked paint dominate, with structures, fire-like passages and damaged ground replacing much of the earlier openness. 

A curved red form occupies the upper centre while fragments of green remain below. The physical surface is busier and more compressed than either of its companion paintings.
