A small painting made almost entirely from variations of blue. Sea, sky and cloud merge into one another through short, repeated brushmarks, with only pale highlights separating waves and atmospheric movement. 

Its restricted palette and modest scale are deliberate. Rather than constructing a narrative, the painting gives a physical form to a state that can be difficult to describe and easy for somebody else not to see.
