A three-part work comprising, Early Promise, Hubris Rules and Future Unseen, exploring humanity’s evolving relationship with the natural world, framed through three critical stages: harmony, exploitation, and consequence.

The first part of the three-work The Selfish Gene sequence. A green landscape stretches beneath a large blue sky, with bare trees and a low settlement running across the middle distance. Circular movement in the sky gives the painting a sense of much larger time continuing around the relatively small signs of human presence. Of the three paintings, this is the most spacious and least heavily disrupted.
