A large, expansive view across Dartmoor in which distant tors rise through bands of brown, ochre and muted green. Mist gathers across the lower ground while a wide blue-grey sky occupies much of the canvas.

The scale allows the landscape to unfold slowly rather than around a single focal point. Weather, distance and changing light are as important to the painting as the physical features of the moor itself.
