On The Easel

A selection of recent works, either approaching completion or paused for reflection. Some are in their final stages, others set aside briefly to allow for fresh perspective before the last adjustments are made.

Nothing Changes,
If Nothing Changes

A journey of research, contemplation and challenge. Seven paintings are connected by a quiet thread: they explore how we—individually, in groups, or as communities—respond, or fail to respond, to the societal challenges we face. My influences include history (recent and ancient), symbolic language, personal reflection—and inevitably, my own experience.

I’d like you to look, contemplate and challenge yourself but I am not offering answers.

You might not see anything at first, as the work is intentionally layered, ambiguous and, I hope, unsettling. You may find yourself drawn to colour, shape, symbol, or silence. What matters is taking time to reflect and to ask yourself why?

Because in the end, one thing is certain:
Nothing changes if nothing changes.

The softest collapse is the one that makes no sound — just the quiet settling of what we no longer question.

Blame is an opium of the people — it soothes their wounds while the powerful sharpen their knives.

If we don’t remember clearly, we inevitably repeat — until ‘it’ burns again.

A truthful, yet vulnerable, voice is essential — and it must not be ignored.

In a world trained to reward dominance — kindness is Resistance.

There’s a moment where you know — what happens next is entirely yours.

Nothing changes if nothing changes.
That includes you.

Intended as a mirror, not a sermon, everything speaks, but you need to be listening.

Nothing Changes,
If Nothing Changes

After months of research and reflection, I began structuring the series. While editing my initial ideas — unusually for me — I decided to attempt some poetry, as a way of framing the works that followed.
